Temecula Valley, California
The district
More than 27,000 students. In 32 schools across 213 miles. Expansive growth.
The challenge
Inspired by a deep commitment to community engagement and school safety, school leaders sought a better way for students and parents to report bullying and safety issues.
The solution
The district partnered with K12 Insight to launch Report Bullying via Let’s Talk!, a special destination online where students and parents could report bullying and other safety concerns 24/7 from a computer, tablet or smartphone.
The results
In less than a year, the district has received more than 100 concerns from parents and students, including two reports of potential suicides. In both of these instances, administrators credit the solution with helping them quickly intervene and notify parents.
Today, TVUSD:
In their words
“It was a sigh of relief that we had something in place, that we had an outlet that somebody could report something like this. That they felt compelled to do it, could well have saved two students’ lives.” – Laura Boss, public information officer, Temecula Valley USD
