Coronavirus Update

As you are probably aware, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have reported several cases of the Coronavirus (COVID19) in the United States. While the CDC still considers the immediate health risk from the virus as low, it has also encouraged schools and other organizations to be prepared to respond to potential outbreaks in their communities.

Our district is actively monitoring the latest information about the virus and following the direction of local and national health organizations.

As we move forward, we encourage you to monitor our district website and social media channels for any updates. If you have specific questions about our policies and procedures around Coronavirus, please submit them via Let’s Talk!.

We also encourage parents to help prevent the spread of any potential illnesses using these steps outlined by the CDC:

  • Demonstrate to your child proper handwashing with warm water and soap for 20 seconds. Visit https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/index.html to show your child a video on proper handwashing.
  • Remind your child to cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to throw the tissue away and wash their hands after use.
  • Encourage children to not touch their eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • When possible, avoid people who are sick. If someone is sick in your household, stay home and consult your healthcare provider.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces or objects.

As always, in case of an immediate emergency dial 911.

Stay healthy and safe!
