Traditions: We are moving quickly toward the holiday season and enjoying family traditions. I cannot believe that it is November this week, the end of daylight savings time, and a few weeks away from Thanksgiving. I was reminded this past weekend of the meaning and the value of traditions when we celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday. My wife’s family has handed down the recipe for Wonder Berry Dumplings, and it was so important for my wife to make these for her mother’s birthday. My wife prepared the dumplings (almost like her mom used to make), and the hug that my wife received from her mom told the whole story—an expression of heartful joy and gratefulness that the family tradition continues.
It’s that time of year that we turn to family and friends and express our gratitude for each other. We asked our employees last spring about values and priorities, and we shared a “wordle” that described gratitude and family. I have included a reminder in this week’s message.
Accreditation Visit: next week is Election Day and the Health Benefit’s Fair, but we also host a visit from the State Accreditation Team who will be here on November 6th & 7th. We will have a presentation at the central office during the morning of their arrival, and they will have plenty of time to visit schools and classrooms. We do not have any special preparations for this visit. We are doing great work. If you are asked, share your thoughts.
