A Chance in the World:  Last week I attended the Wyoming School Boards Association meeting in Casper with a few of our board members.  Like most conferences, we get to hear a motivational speaker who shares a story of hope and resilience.  This year’s keynote was Steve Pemberton who told his story about “defying seemingly insurmountable odds” [www.stevepemberton.io/about].  His best-selling memoir, A Chance in The World has been made into a movie that will be released on December 1, 2018, and I am sure you will find Steve’s story inspirational.

Steve shared his childhood memories which made me reflect on my own childhood and journey, and also made me think, we all have a story and a journey.   The Thanksgiving holiday provides a time to be thankful and recount our own stories with family and friends. Have a wonderful break.
 
Committee and Policy Work:  We have a number of committees working on policies and procedures, and some of these committees will be finishing up their work prior to the end of December.  Some of the current committees include extra duty pay stipends, sick leave, annual calendar, and student fees.  A list of the committee members can be found on the employee resources or the school board tab on our website.
