Thought for the Day: "Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause." (

Veteran’s Day:  Veteran’s share a belief in duty, honor, and patriotism.  This is a day to thank the veterans who have served, and to thank our service men and women who are presently on active duty, the National Guard or the Reserve.  When you meet a veteran it is appropriate to extend the greeting, “Thank you for your service.”

Peer Review (Accreditation) Visit:   The peer review team enjoyed their visit to ACSD#1 and commented that it was great professional development for the visitation team.  The one comment that I appreciated the most from the exit report was that the team wanted to spend more time in schools and classrooms. They were favorably impressed with our teachers and students and the lessons that are occurring every day—great job!

ACSD#1 School Board Meeting, Tuesday, November 13, 2018: This month’s school board meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 7 p.m., because board members are attending the Wyoming School Boards Association annual meeting in Casper starting on Wednesday this week.  The board’s commitment to their own professional development is not unlike the commitment our teachers have to their craft.  We are all learners, and I appreciate our school board’s dedication to continuous improvement.

 Have a great week,

Jubal C. Yennie, Superintendent
Albany County School District One
