Bring on the Sun!
This has certainly been a wild week--one for the history books. I am glad that everyone is safe, and we weathered the storm. Our maintenance and operations folks worked arduously to ensure that snow was removed from doorways and sidewalks. The City of Laramie made a couple of passes around schools yesterday to remove snow to make it easier for parents and students this morning. I know there are still a lot of piles, but hopefully these will be gone when we return in a week.
I didn’t send a Monday Message, because I was going to send a Spring Break message on Wednesday. Little did I know, winter would interrupt and remind us to keep our snow shovels and coats close at hand. Nevertheless, we are back in session today, and we will regroup with lessons after the break.
Make Up Days
I have received a number of questions about make up days. We will use the April 22, 2019 professional development day as a full day of school, and we will request that Wyoming Department of Education approve a plan to add a half day at the end of the calendar (May 31st). I will have more detailed information after the break. Barring any other major storms, I will work to get students and staff out for the summer before June 1st.
