Once assigned, these users will be able to accept chat requests when they designate themselves as available.<\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6854 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings-800x83.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"83\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings-800x83.png 800w, https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings-1024x107.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings-768x80.png 768w, https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings-1536x160.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/live-agent-settings.png 1689w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p><ol><li aria-level=\"1\">Go to Settings, and select \u201cLive Agent\u201d under the Channels section in the left panel.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">This will bring you to the Live Agent setting page where you can add or remove existing agents.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Ensure that the \u201cEnable Live Chat\u201d switch is toggled to ON.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">To add a new Live Agent, simply click on the \u201cEdit Team Members\u201d icon next to the Live Agents heading and type the member's name in the box then Save.<\/li><\/ol><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6855 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/add-live-agent.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"111\" \/><\/p><h2>Accepting a Chat<\/h2><p>Once a user has Live Agent access, they can update their chat status to available by clicking on the chat icon in the bottom left corner then Available.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6857 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/status.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p><p>When a live chat request comes through, you have the option to click on Accept, Request, or Decline by selecting either option in the bottom right corner.<\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6858 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/accept-live-agent-chat.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"411\" height=\"179\" \/><\/p><h2>Using Quick Replies and Knowledge Base Articles<\/h2><p>If you select the chat, you will then be responsible for responding to the customer within the chat screen. Here you can type your own message or use Quick Replies and Knowledge Base articles if they exist. To use a Quick Reply, simply hover over the quick reply message and click the arrow to add to the chat. To insert a Knowledge Base article in the chat, click on the Knowledge Base panel and perform the same action.<\/p><p><em>Please note:<\/em> o<i>nly System Administrators, Category Administrators, and Topic Owners can access the Knowledge Base feature by default, but other users can be given article access.
