More importantly though, schools should be actively listening to the opinions, suggestions, and concerns of their communities.<\/span><\/p><h2><strong>Here\u2019s a step-by-step guide to create your own deep listening channel in Onflo (formerly Lets Talk):<\/strong><\/h2><h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4><strong>Create a new Topic<\/strong><\/h4><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some districts have titled this \"Open Forum\", \"Speak Up [District Name]\",\u00a0 \"Moving Forward\", \"Share Your Story\".<\/span><\/i><\/p><h4><strong>Include a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/district-examples\/new-employee-form\/\">form message<\/a> at the top of the ticket form to share your purpose.<\/strong><\/h4><p><b>Example text:<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">[District Name] is fiercely committed to the principle of equal justice and education for all and will join our community in reflection, conversation and action to make a positive difference in the lives of all our students. We have provided an open forum for you to share your thoughts, suggestions, and feedback about how we can continue with this mission.<\/span><\/i><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Update the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/district-examples\/new-employee-form\/\"><b>on-screen and email thank you messages<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for your Topic to inform your community how you intend to use the messages you receive.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol><p><b>Example text: <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Usually we work to respond in 48 hours, however we recognize that in this moment it is imperative that we listen. We will be reviewing all submitted feedback and using it to structure our new equity plan. Our community feedback is essential to the success of our district. We are honored to continue to serve you.<\/span><\/i><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the team <\/span><b>receives\/reviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> these tickets, they can decide to:<\/span><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/how-to-articles\/bulk-editor\/\"><b>Bulk close<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> them WITHOUT sending the customer experience feedback form (if the goal is to listen and not respond at this time); or<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respond to them if they feel a direct response is warranted.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol><h4><b>Promote! <\/b><strong>To let your community know you are listening on this topic, we suggest sending a campaign in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/how-to-articles\/campaign-manager-overview\/\">Campaign Manager<\/a>. We\u2019ve created a template for you to get started called SPEAK UP.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4><p><span>You may also decide to share a letter from the superintendent about the district's deep listening campaign, including the direct link to the Topic you created. <\/span><span>Here<\/span><span> is an example from Tuscaloosa City Schools.
