{"id":3317,"date":"2020-05-14T22:50:32","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T22:50:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/?post_type=article&#038;p=3317"},"modified":"2025-10-20T22:04:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T22:04:55","slug":"how-to-merge-tickets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/how-to-articles\/how-to-merge-tickets\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Merge Tickets"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"3317\" class=\"elementor elementor-3317\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-61b74d9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"61b74d9\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3f904b47\" data-id=\"3f904b47\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5bf01183 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5bf01183\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Combine multiple tickets into one ticket<\/strong><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When someone in your community sends in multiple tickets regarding the same issue, perhaps even across multiple Topics, rather than closing them out one at a time with the same response, combine them into one ticket and proceed from that!\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Here\u2019s how -<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In your inbox, select all the tickets you wish to combine by checking the box on the left side of the ticket in your inbox.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll see the editor tool appear automatically, but if not, then click on Open Editor at the top right-hand corner.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/videoapi-muybridge.vimeocdn.com\/animated-thumbnails\/image\/a3bf8074-80ff-4abb-aac2-3f005feb7e59.gif?ClientID=vimeo-core-prod&amp;Date=1653691368&amp;Signature=d4a18a66b12b9d8da723569335ba27e80b736406\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the Editor, click on the Merge tab at the top, and then fill out the relevant information.\u00a0<\/span><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Topic: Select the Topic that the combined tickets will be under.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Owner: Select the owner for the combined tickets.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Team Members: Add or remove the team members that will have visibility into the ticket. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the <\/span><b>Send Response to customer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">checkbox if you want to send a notification to the customer letting them know their tickets have been merged. If the ticket you are merging is from different customers, then select the customer who will receive the message. Onflo (formerly Let's Talk) will automatically populate the message below, but you can customize it as needed.<br \/><\/span><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3633\" src=\"https:\/\/www.k12insight.com\/kc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-07-at-12.25.13-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"288\" \/><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Merge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button once you are done and the tickets will combine into one.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol><h2><strong>Some important facts to keep in mind when using this feature:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no limit when merging tickets.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you merge tickets from different customers, then the customer on the merged ticket will be the customer from the most recently received ticket selected.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets that result from a merge cannot be merged a second time.<\/span><\/li><li>Tickets that are closed can be merged.<\/li><li>All merged tickets can still be accessed within the new ticket, both under the original message and the timeline.<\/li><li>Tickets cannot have different statuses.
