Fort Bend ISD is closely monitoring all developments related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and working closely with health care officials to ensure we are taking all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases as we prepare for the transition to face-to-face instruction.

We also encourage parents to help prevent the spread of any potential illnesses using these steps outlined by the CDC:

  • Demonstrate to your child proper handwashing with warm water and soap for 20 seconds. Visit to show your child a video on proper handwashing.
  • Remind your child to cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to throw the tissue away and wash their hands after use.
  • Encourage children to not touch their eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • When possible, avoid people who are sick. If someone is sick in your household, stay home and consult your healthcare provider.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces or objects.
Families are encouraged to follow the guidance of our local health officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additional information can be found at
