Cell Phone Policy
Based on feedback from students, staff and families, Spokane Public Schools adopted a new Cell Phone Policy and Procedure before the start of 2024-25 school year:
- All elementary and middle schools are cell phone-free during school hours
- All high schools are cell phone-free during classroom time. High school students may use their phone during meals and passing periods.
Other cell-based devices, such as smartwatches, air pods, etc., also will not be allowed during classroom time. Students will still keep their phone in their possession during the school day. Students with specific medical or other documented needs may have accommodations made.
If you have questions about cell phones at SPS, please complete the form below.

If you choose to ‘Hide your contact information from the District’ the system will securely send your message to Spokane Public Schools without revealing your identity. However, Let's Talk's! technology allows them to respond to your message.
