CommunityConsult™ Assists Superintendents and Boards Facing Tough Decisions Imposed by Budget Cuts
Timely and Reliable Feedback to Assist
Decision-Making as Programs are Scaled Back or Eliminated
Herndon, VA. August 6 / -- Schools all across America are facing deep budget
cuts. School Boards and Superintendents are being asked to do more with
less. Driven by the belief that a sound understanding of the community’s
perceptions will better prepare District leadership in setting the agenda
and priorities of their Districts and communicate their message back to the
community, K12 Insight is offering a specialized, multi-modal feedback of
the community as school administrators get ready to start the new school
year.
K12 Insight, a leading innovator in comprehensive survey solutions for
America’s public schools, announced today the launch of CommunityConsult™, a
scientifically valid community survey to gather high quality feedback from
members of the community via phone and the Internet. School Boards and
Superintendents will receive analysis and reporting on the data within two
weeks to help them make informed decisions.
The survey instrument incorporates best practices on survey design and a
deep understanding of the climate in which public schools operate. Survey
questions are finalized in consultation with the Board and District
leadership, ensuring relevance for each District. Surveys may be deployed
online or via phone or a combination of both ensuring a statistically valid
sample size is achieved. It is not always possible to get statistically
reliable measures by posting a survey online – the phone component may be
needed to ensure the sample represents the community. Backed by the power of
its analytical engine, K12 Insight will deliver the findings within a matter
of days.
"Most superintendents will return to their jobs this summer with difficult
decisions before them concerning which programs to eliminate and which to
preserve or even expand," said Suhail Farooqui, president and COO of K12
Insight. "Timely and reliable feedback from their staff, teachers, parents,
students and the community will give them the confidence necessary to move
forward in these challenging times.”
“K12 Insight’s services have helped provide clarity to FASA’s agenda and
strengthened our ability to communicate that to our state’s leadership,”
said Jim Warford, Executive Director of the Florida Association of School
Administrators (FASA). “When I meet with political leaders in Tallahassee, I
can back every assertion we make by showing them reports from our member
surveys. Now CommunityConsult™ can do the same for superintendents in their
districts. Such feedback and consultation with the community will help our
superintendents gain clarity and help them lead with confidence.”
CommunityConsult™ explores the relative importance of various programs and
operational areas as perceived by the community and is not a replacement for
perceptional studies such as School Climate and Satisfaction surveys.
